Plot Summary
The film begins with Julie (Raai Laxmi) being shot by an unknown assailant and rushed to the hospital. A police officer (Aditya Srivastava) is assigned to investigate the case and interrogates various people related to Julie's life. Through flashbacks, the film reveals Julie's journey from a simple girl named Julie D'Souza to a successful actress named Julie.
Julie belongs to a conservative Christian family in Goa. She falls in love with a Hindu boy named Mihir (Ravi Kishan), who is a superstar in the Telugu film industry. They elope and get married, but Mihir's family does not accept their relationship and forces them to separate. Julie is heartbroken and decides to pursue a career in acting to prove herself.
She moves to Mumbai and meets Mohit (Nishikant Kamat), a film director who gives her a break in his film. However, she soon realizes that she has to compromise her morals and dignity to survive in the industry. She is exploited by various men, including producers, financiers, politicians, cricketers, and even her co-stars. She also gets involved in drugs and alcohol to cope with her depression.
She becomes a successful actress, but at the cost of losing her self-respect and happiness. She tries to find love again, but is betrayed by every man she trusts. She also faces competition from younger actresses who try to sabotage her career. She becomes lonely and disillusioned with her life.
The film ends with the revelation that Julie was shot by her own father (Anant Jog), who was ashamed of her lifestyle and wanted to end her misery. He confesses his crime to the police officer and asks for forgiveness. Julie survives the bullet wound and decides to start a new life with Mohit, who still loves her despite everything.
