Some auctions are the original issue (first time), when a specific CUSIP is sold. Some are additional issue (reopenings), when we sell more of a specific CUSIP that was sold before. See more about reopenings below.
When we auction a security in a reopening, the security has the same CUSIP, maturity date, and interest payment dates as the original offering. However, it has a different issue date and usually a different price.
Before buying and selling on an online auction site, look at its reputation. You can usually find real reviews on social media sites like Reddit or Facebook. Legitimate auction sites offer privacy, security, and dispute resolution.

Watch your bids! If you are outbid in an online only auction, you will be notified on the auction catalogue page, by email, and by push notifications (if enabled on your smartphone). In a live auction, you will be notified on the auction catalogue page and by push notification, but not by email.
After your lot has closed, you will be notified on the auction and lot detail pages as well as via email. If you are the winning bidder, you will receive an invoice shortly after the auction including your total charges along with payment and property collection instructions.
Absentee bid: A maximum bid placed ahead of the auction which will be executed on your behalf by the auctioneer during the live auction, at the lowest price possible and never for more than the maximum bid amount you indicate. Successful absentee bidders will be notified after the auction.
For auctions with absentee bidding, your maximum bid will be executed by the auctioneer on your behalf during the live auction and you will be notified if you were successful after the live auction. You can increase your maximum bid at any point ahead of the live auction.
All of Sotheby's auctions are free and open to the public, and there is no obligation to bid. Most auctions are held during the day, except for occasional evening sales, which require tickets. You may also watch our auctions online.
After the auctioneer starts the bidding, they will accept incrementally higher bids until a sole bidder remains. This final bidder purchases the lot. However, if the bidding fails to reach the reserve price, the lot will pass unsold.
Once big retailers like Amazon decided to start liquidating to offload this returned or overstock inventory through their online marketplaces on B-Stock, we became the bridge between sellers and buyers. As a B2B marketplace that sells bulk quantities of customer returns and overstock merchandise, small business owners know they are getting inventory directly from the source.
Resellers who purchase Amazon returns through online liquidation auctions can get steep discounts on products from big brand names. Some auction lots will be all of the same category, such as a pallet of dresses or a truckload of pet products. Other lots are mixed and contain various goods in varying conditions. Be sure to read all of the manifest details about a given lot before bidding on it.
After item procurement, pricing your silent auction items can be your next biggest challenge. And you thought all you needed to do was simply gather enough item donations! Never fear, use this blog as a resource to ease your pricing worries.
For example, if you are including AirPods or a $100 gift certificate to a popular restaurant in your silent auction, the FMV would be the retail price of AirPods and the amount on the gift certificate would be the FMV.
The general rule of thumb is to not go above or below 30-50%. It is a balance of not starting the bidding too low and reducing the return on your auction, while also wanting bidders to be invested in the bidding process.
For example, school auctions typically see crazy gamification and bidder engagement with something as simple as parking spots. You know this intangible item sells, so set a higher starting bid (and continue to raise it year-over-year)!
If there is a healthy ratio between guests and silent auction items, there should be a solid number of bids on each item in your silent auction. If it takes more than 5-8 bids to get to 70% of FMV, then your increments are too low.
Most often this happens with inventory in Heavy Construction Equipment, Farm Machinery & Implements, Industrial Machinery & Equipment, Commercial Trucks, Collector Cars and Vehicles, Marine & Aviation. Proxibid has partnered with VeriTread, a secure online freight exchange where shipping customers can get competitive bids from a large network of reputable transportation providers. We will also continue our partnership with uShip, a global transport marketplace that connects shipping customers with transportation service providers.

Highlight certain items for your audience, that would be more likely to have higher interest, higher engagement, and more bidding. You can open the bidding for these items ahead of your full auction to increase overall visibility and participation.
Rule number one is simple. Do NOT, under any circumstances allow your bid to be influenced by your desire to own the vehicle. This can lead to you ending up holding the bag on a vehicle you later have regrets about. This is certainly the largest pitfall of buying online. Again, speaking from experience, this is a very easy thing to do.
Use your best judgment and know when you get caught in a bidding war. If you do, walk away. Fish in the sea and all that. It can also be helpful to watch a few auctions end to see how and when people bid. Bearing these tips and tricks in mind, you should have no trouble at all finding a great vehicle for yourself online. Happy bidding.
In an auction-style listing, sellers name a starting price and you bid against other buyers. You can keep track of your bidding from the Bids/Offers - opens in new window or tab section of My eBay. When the listing ends, the highest bidder wins the auction and pays for the item.

This set of three published individual works from editions of 123, 207 and 271 sold for $250,000.00 in May 2021. Using political and pop-cultural imagery, the works range from the silly to the shocking. As Winkelmann told The Verge website in 2020: "My goal is to make something that is so weird and so out-there that it makes you just think of questions instead of answers."
