Whatever your style of music, the Blues EZX MiDi WiN MAC has something in its resources for you. But you'll also see that there are templates within the library. This is cool, because you don't always want to create something from scratch. But to be honest, I rather like having the fragments of the songs already set up, so I can choose which bits of them I want and just add time, or come up with a cool groove in isolation. So these templates are pretty handy, and it's satisfying to create a grove out of just a handful of individual beats.

The biggest problem with these template tracks is that they might have a groove you want, but it's not a proper blues groove. It will just sound like a regular song that you want to use in your library. When you then try to do any kind of jazz or blues variation to it, it just sounds awful. So I like to have templates with each kind of groove, so that I can try my hand at different grooves by clicking and dragging drubbels and creating fills from scratch. This is a big feature, and the library is generally well-maintained, so you won't ever run out of new beats to use.

The system for recording drums is pretty good. The hit detection is pretty good, but the software lacks a drummer with experience. The templates are half decent, but they are not professional. The MIDI input is not very good. It doesn't take standard manuals like this, but it lacks enough templates to create unique grooves and fills. It is very limited when it comes to drums. The Ekseption Drummer and bandwidth are good.

All of this seems too negative, so here some pros and cons. I really like that there is a close to 200 bpm drum kit for the Blues library. I also like the fact that the library sounds very authentic and traditional, but I also know that it does not offer such a diverse music library for drums. Sometimes I want a fast beat, sometimes a slow beat and sometimes a laid back beat. The Blues library doesn't offer many of those options. d2c66b5586
