While the plot such as it is involves characters coming together from several alternate universes and timelines (before the release of Castlevania: Judgment is coming in United States, Japan and PAL regions known as Europe and Australia in the Castlevania timeline and ironically, we are speaking of the official Castlevania Fighting Game), the game itself plays like a very long boss rush styled after the platformers of the series, with graphics borrowed from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and the DS games along with new sprites drawn in the same style.
Serio's Castlevania Fighter was released on 19th September 2008. It contained 8 playable characters: Alucard, Richter Belmont, Simon Belmont, Hugh Baldwin, Julius Belmont, Yoko Belnades, Old Axe Armor, and a Skeleton, as well as many bosses.
On 25th December 2008 a second demo release was made. Along with many bugfixes and some new system additions two new playable characters were added: Albus and a Persephone, as well as three new bosses. On 31st October 2009 a third demo release was made. Along with many bug fixes, some new system additions and new stage interaction effects four new playable characters were added: Nathan Graves, Maria Renard, Soma Cruz and Charlotte Aulin, as well as four new bosses. Later, in an updated version of demo 3 (not demo 4), another character was released: a Frog.
Later in 2010, the fourth demo got released, along with new characters and bosses, even some brand new english voices got added. The new characters consists of Werewolf, Jonathan Morris, Death, Hammer and Reimu from the Koumajou Densetsu series. The new bosses consists of Cyclops, Rusalka, Blackmore, Medusa, Gergoth, Paranoia and Astarte and game's releases in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and more. You can go to characters here.
This article lists characters created for the M.U.G.E.N engine that do not exist elsewhere. For source fighting game characters and characters who exist outside of M.U.G.E.N, please see the appropriate character sheet.
The female equivalent to the original Kung Fu Man (not related or connected to him in any way). She may seem like a carbon copy of him, but she is much more in depth than what she appears to be. And while she borrows quite a few moves from Kung Fu Man, this quickly escalates into a wide array of other moves unique to herself. She herself has been remade into various different characters as well, with the most well known version of her made by S.Y.D. (Another Kung Fu Girl Z).
A guy who loves street fighting and makes his own journey to be the best just by improvising moves that learned from other fighters. The first original creation of his creator (which also made the voices), Eric is one of his most famous creations and sometimes he uses Eric as base for various of his characters.
From the maker of some of the most powerfully made characters in M.U.G.E.N comes his pride and joy. She's a Japanese schoolgirl who may seem like your average human but she boasts serious hidden powers and even commands her own humongous mecha.
The first original character made by Rikard (coding) and Orochi Dark Cloud (spriting), which ended with more characters that became part of the same story, included Megumi and her younger brother Rikard.
A man who died and revived as a Made of Evil Living Shadow who wants to Take Over the World. Another original character made by Basara-kun first as an experiment but later having his own plot and related characters like "XXX2" (a Shotoclone who's a follower and the second in charge) and "Blizzard" (An Ice Person karateka which was big brother of the original persona before he died), all of them also made by Basara-kun.
Yes, Donald, not Ronald, in line with the Japanese Ranguage pronunciation. The clown mascot of McDonald's unexpectedly became an icon of M.U.G.E.N thanks to Kishio's artful conversion of the fast-food fiend into the fighting game engine. With some animations traced over sprites from Guilty Gear and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage For The Future, Donald was one of the earliest high-quality joke characters to grace M.U.G.E.N, quickly spawning countless cheap edits, some reasonably iconic in their own right. Some speculate that he may have spawned the most edits of any M.U.G.E.N character.
Created to fight against his competitor Ronald McDonald, Colonel Sanders is almost as famous as the fast food clown in the M.U.G.E.N community, and much like Donald, he has been one of the most edited characters in the history of the engine. In terms of gameplay, the colonel has simpler gameplay than Donald's, however, and he may be a bit underpowered and have a few gameplay issues, he is featured with a brutal customized A.I.
One of the first cartoon characters ever created for M.U.G.E.N. where he participates in order to save his family and friends from an evil penguin named Madping, who kidnapped them and sent his minions to finish Pingu.
The Saiyan who was raised on Earth. Goku has been created in M.U.G.E.N countless times. Sick of the endless glut of broken, overpowered, poorly-sprited Dragon Ball characters, creators Balthazar and Cybaster formed Team Z2 to rebuild Goku's reputation in M.U.G.E.N. Sprited, coded and even voice-acted from scratch, Z2 Goku is designed to be a professional quality love letter to the original manga and anime. The Z2 Project gradually expanded to incorporate other Dragon Ball stars as they began work on a full standalone game for them to inhabit, Hyper Dragon Ball Z.
Warner is a M.U.G.E.N. creator from El Salvador known for being part of the Mugen Hispania, an important Spanish-spoken community in the Turn of the Millennium. He's known to be one of the most prolific spriters from Latin America making all his characters from scratch, being most famous for create characters from Matt Groening and Seth MacFarlane animated series, Kenshin Himura and Makoto Shishio from Rurouni Kenshin, as well other famous characters like The Thing, Donald Duck, Wario and Fred Flintstone.
One of the most recognized cartoon characters of all time made the jump to M.U.G.E.N back in 2006 by the hands of Warner. The success of this character made this creator recreate more characters from not just The Simpsons but from other similar (and based) animations as Futurama and Family Guy.

Castlevania Fighter is a homebrewed Castlevania game, developed by Serio using MUGEN as the game engine. While the plot - such as it is - involves characters coming together from several alternate universes and timelines (a bit like the cast of Castlevania Judgment coming from several points in the timeline - and ironically, we are speaking of the official Castlevania Fighting Game), the game itself plays like a very long Boss Rush styled after the platformers of the series, with graphics borrowed from Symphony of the Night and the DS games along with new sprites drawn in the same style. 2b1af7f3a8
